sister, (located in the back of my copy of Twilight - she's homeschooled and I was put in charge of her English portion. What better to have her read for Lit. than Twilight? HELLLLER!), I came across the question about Bella's reaction to Blood through Twilight. As I don't have the book in front of me at the moment, Rachel will have to verify if I get the gist of this right. Basically the question is,
"How do you think Bella's reaction to blood will effect her once she becomes a vampire? What do you think the benefits will be? What will be a hindrance about it?"
Which got me thinking - Bella's reaction to blood didn't seem to have ANY effect on her once she was changed in Breaking Dawn. Isn't that a bit odd? Stephenie Meyer spent the better part of three books playing up how Bella faints & generally got sick the minute she saw or smelled blood and then ..nothing.
Did Stephenie Meyer drop the ball? Did she decide it wasn't really important? What happened?

Hmm..you make a good point.
However, you have to think that when you turn vampire from human, you become a whole new being. Only a few traits might be brought with you. A thirst for blood will ALWAYS be there though. That's the key element to survival. So no matter what your reaction was to blood before, it is now the one thing you depend on and your body knows it.

I've thought about that too, but I keep coming back to the big deal that was made about her reaction to blood. It REALLY seemed like there was a point trying to be made through the 3 books -- just for it to be very anti-climatic once she gets turned.

Maybe Stephenie Meyer wanted to point out a kind of irony? That Edward can't resist blood and Bella is sickened by it?

Actually her not fainting or getting sick started when she got pregnant, she drank the blood for Renesemee. It's really weird that she just sort of is like "hm okay...blood isn't so bad after all" when all the time before she was fainting puking getting lightheaded SOMETHING because she couldn't stand to be around blood.

I was listening to a Twilight podcast [Imprint, they're really good] and they were discussing that aversion to blood she had. I can't remember the details, but the discussion they had on it was really interesting saying that her awareness of the smell of blood and the way her body was so clearly affected by it sort of played into her not being a crazy newborn. I wish I could remember the insight of the discussion but while listening to it I was having a lot of "Aha!" moments from the points they were making.

Well..actually now that I think about it I guess it really can makes sense.
