I actually liked Mike before Midnight Sun. He was the first person in school to really embrace Bella and take her under his "wing" & include her. Again, like Jacob, it was obvious he liked her, and was always looking for an opportunity to ask her out, but all in all, I thought he was a pretty decent guy. He seemed like he was really concerned for her in New Moon, treated her like nothing happened after she came out of her zombie stage, and all that jazz. Then you read Midnight Sun & realize what a piece of scum he really is. *sigh* & I had such high hopes about him.

Yeah, but Edward was born in a totally different time era than Mike, lol.

Gah I probably shouldn't even be reading the things you guys say in this part of the site, but whatever. I can imagine the types of things Mike says. But maybe that's what Stephenie is going for? She wants you to have these thoughts about the characters, and then completely change them up in Midnight Sun....

Lol. I think Stephenie is just being more realistic. A man of Edward's actual age would act like that and a boy of Mike's age would act like that. It's not a matter of showing you that you were wrong in assumptions, it's the truth of these days. I think she's trying to show a difference in times, especially since these books are aimed toward teen girls. She's showing them that they don't have to settle for a dipshit boy, that they can wait for a man instead.

That's a great idea. I bet that's what she was going for.

Hmm...maybe I should make Chris read this...
"Atleast Edward wouldn't cheat on me with a wet-lookin', hoomewreckin' dog."

She looks like a wet dog most days, and she claims some Native American.
I just call it ugly without an alibi.
