From what I read of this book, it seems like Stephenie Meyer really wants to make Edward to seem more human than a vampire, with his feellings and emotions, all that jazz. I like seeing it from his point of view, but deep inside something strikes where I DON'T want to see a vampire in a more human-like position, you know? It's like, for YEARS vampires have been characterized as non-humans, as outsiders, and now this author wants to bring their dazzling bodies into the light? I don't know. That doesn't seem right to me, lol. They're not human and that's the beauty of them. They're different. They're unique. Yet they still love, they still feel emotion, they still hate, all that. I don't want to think of them as just another human with rushing emotions.

I think I know what you mean. Part of the appeal (to me anyways) of the Vampires is just that: They're vampires. There's good ones & there's bad ones. They have emotions, but they are more creatures of instinct. She teeters on the line of making them seem TOO human at times.
At the same time, Stephenie Meyer has completely changed my view on Vampires. I don't think I'll ever be able to read or watch another Run-of-the-mill vampire story.

This is true. I'm more pleased with Stephenie Meyer than Anne Rice.

Heard that! I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Queen of the Damned again. That's for sure.

And it's a shame. I used to like Queen of the Damned, lol. However, I totally, TOTALLY dig Twilight..perhaps a bit too much.

I liked it a lot too. But, like you, I'm much to into Twilight. So much that it's probably not exactly healthy.

I agree that Stephenie has changed the understanding of Vampires and what they can be.
From the perspective of being completely infatuated with Edward I love the chance of getting inside his head after being in Bella's for so long and understanding what he was thinking during those same moments and the different perspective of the Stephenie Meyer Vampire.
