Yes, we know they're subjective. We know they change on the fly.
What we don't know is why she can't see the shape shifter's futures at all. Why do you think that is? She can see a vampire's, yes because she is one, and she can see a mortal's because she WAS one, but I think there MUST be more to it than her not being able to see a shape shifter's because she never was one.

Hmm..you maybe on to something with that!
I never gave it much thought before, though now that you mention it.. I can't wrap my mind around why that would be. Unless it has something to do with their genetic markers, you know- having 24 strands instead of 23 or 25. But even then, I would think that would be more of a reason why Jasper or Edward's gifts wouldn't work with half-breeds, more so than Alice's.

I doubt it could really have anything to do with the genetic markers because her gift has nothing to do with their mind or body, just their future, you know? Not even THEY know what their future holds, but she does.
Then again, the genetic marker could be something because she really couldn't see Renesmee.

I really don't think it does either. It doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't the fact that NONE of them have ever been half-breeds, therefore they can't relate, be more of a reason why Jasper & Edward's gifts wouldn't work? Alice sees the future. It should be pretty cut & dry.
There better be more books coming out.. I need some things answered damnit.

Lol! It just means we have THAT much free time and free space in our head. We're creative and deep, lol.

Way too much time on our hands, and we think way too deeply into things. We part apart the weirdest things & get stuck on them.

I just stumble across this again in Eclipse:
"We're not sure why this is. Some natural defense they're born with? That doesn't seem entirely likely, since I haven't had any trouble reading their thoughts. The Blacks' at least. Carlisle theorizes that it's because their lives are so ruled by their transformations. It's more an involuntary reaction than a decision. Utterly unpredictable, and it changes everything about them. In that instant when they shift from one form to the other, they don't really even exist. The future cant hold them.."
THAT would make sense..but wouldn't account for Renesmee.

Alright, that covers the shape shifters. About Renesmee? Do you think her advanced aging could have anything to do with it?

Oh Rachel! You're good. You're REALLY good. That would make much more sense than the whole "I was never a half breed" thing.
Honestly, as much as I love Stephenie Meyer..I don't think she planned that one out too well. I think she just kinda got there & was like "Shit."

Lol, probably. I doubt she really think there's people out there like us that really look at things.

Probably not. Ah well. It's fun coming up with our own theories.
